Only lacking factor is a color page forthe start of the volume like some of their other Shonen JumpAdvance titles (Seraph of the End, Tegami Bachi) forexample.Definitely pick this title up though as it offers a newtake on the school focused series and is a great alternative to thetraditional battle action manga that Shonen Jump is known for (andhas gotten stale a bit through the years).1 of 1 people found thefollowing review helpful. But inany event its really a minor complaint and one that is just aboutstyle so nothing really wrong with it.In terms of extras the oneshot prototype story is included, along with a bonus story, thisessentially means the volume covers the first five chapters, has abonus one shot story, as well as a bonus comic bringing the totalpage count over 200 pages. It is one of the more laughable moments interms of sfx design and one will never forget seeing it or thinkingits some sort of subtle in manga ad for the STEAM platform. There is some concern over the choice of translatingand redrawing the sound effects to change it from just subtitledtext to say STEAM on one page to actually writing in huge lettersSTEAM over the food. For a series takingplace in a school in JPN it is off to a great start and offers afairly different take on the little explored cooking type series inthe Shonen Jump portfolio.Quality wise it is one of Viz's betterreleases as there are no mistakes in the cleaning and redrawdepartment.
At least as presentedhere in this volume it is a compelling concept. Shokugekis, thefood wars, are the duels that enable them to put something on theline either something tangible or even their pride and livelihoodto prove their worth and gain some tangibles.
